Squina International Group had sponsored the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and to jointly organized a Distinguished Scholar Lecture on “Effects of Chondroitin Sulfate on Joint Disease” on 18 Nov 2011. The lecture is hosted by Professor Nomura from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Japan. The audiences include PolyU lecturers, students, medical organizations and pharmacists.
Alleviate arthritis Dr Nomura is a leading researcher of bio-resource science and zoology. He pointed out that different experiments had shown that chondroitin sulfate is beneficial to arthritis.
Stimulate hyaluronic acid synthesis. Double protection effect of joint Chondroitin sulfate can stimulate hyaluronic acid synthase activity to increase hyaluronic acid production, which is essential to joint lubrication. Dr Nomura believed that arthritis patients could take appropriate dosage of chondroitin sulfate to alleviate or prevent symptoms.
Correct uric acid level Researches have shown that chondroitin sulfate is effective in stabilizing uric acid level. Scholars believed that it is related to its component, chondroitin protein-complex, which could rejuvenate cells and repair the uric acid filtration system – glomerular and basement membrane. Dr Nomura claimed that chondroitin sulfate is the only component that could exert the above three beneficial effects.
