Blood Lipid Profile Management Programme |
Blood lipid profile, including: cholesterols and triglyceride, is an important indicator of cardiovascular health. Cholesterol can be synthesized by the liver or obtained from animal food. About 2/3 of cholesterol is synthesized by the liver and intestinal wall, while the other 1/3 is obtained from food. High blood lipid or cholesterol is the cause of blood plaque, atherosclerosis, fatty liver, cardiovascular diseases or cerebrovascular diseases.

Analysis
Total cholesterol
>6.2
<5.2
Cholesterol can be synthesized by the liver or obtained from animal food. High blood cholesterol will increase risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
High density cholesterol (HDL)
<1.0
>1.6
HDL is protective to blood vessels. It can remove excessive bad cholesterol from vessel wall and transport it back to liver for elimination.
Low density cholesterol (LDL)
>4.1
<2.6
LDL, which is responsible for carrying cholesterols to different parts of the body, if in excessive, will cause vessel obstruction and atherosclerosis. It is called the bad cholesterol.
Triglyceride
>2.3
<1.7
Hyperlipidemia is the cause of lethal diseases like atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases and fatty liver etc.
